Carnival Series PokerStars Network: the new online Festival starts Sunday, February 15

Not even time to digest the last day of the MicroMillions, the first online festival played entirely in the new year, that on PokerStars Poker and Sisal Poker a new but traditional series of tournaments begins, the Carnival Series.

Traditional because it is part of those historical events such as ICOOP, SCOOP and the MicroMillions themselves, new because, exactly like every edition, a whole series of innovative tournaments are presented.

Dates of the Carnival Series

Regarding the dates during which the Carnival Series will accompany us, the PokerStars and Sisal lobby are quite clear: it starts on February 15th, so the Sunday that closes the weekend we are about to experience, and then ends 15 days later with the final day, March 1st, when the Main Event, which we will discuss in detail shortly, will be played.

Main Opening Tournaments

Starting from the opening day, there are 10 tournaments scheduled and it starts very early, as at 6:00 PM the NL High Five with a €5 buy-in begins.

We immediately move up a level with the Big Feast at 7:00 PM, the first tournament with a €50 buy-in and a prize pool of €50,000 GTD, although the highlight of the day is the one in the middle of the evening.

The two reference tournaments are the €250 Sunday Extravaganza and the much-welcomed return of the Spicy 50, two events offered respectively for a guaranteed prize pool of €125,000 and €150,000.

Hold’Em Circus Every Evening

If we want to highlight the daily tournaments, the NL Hold’Em Circus should be mentioned first, with a very low cost of €10 and a start scheduled every prime time at 8:30 PM, for a Guaranteed prize pool ranging from €30,000 to €50,000.

For slightly higher buy-ins, there are the €50 NL Buffet and the €20 and €50 Ring Master.

The Main Event at the End of the Festival

On the very last day of the Carnival Series, all eyes will be on the main event, the €100 buy-in Main Event, which will carry a guaranteed prize pool of €350,000.

It will be played in Mystery Bounty mode over two tournament days, although late registration will close 4 hours after its start.

What are Online Festivals like the Carnival Series

Online festivals are “event periods” of poker to be played on your devices, where a room concentrates dozens (sometimes hundreds) of tournaments in a single calendar, with dedicated names, higher than normal guaranteed prize pools, and fixed appointments in prime time and usually evening slots.

It is the digital equivalent of a live festival: you find tournaments for all bankrolls, from low buy-ins to high rollers, often with special formats (KO, Mystery, PKO, progressive, turbo) and satellites that allow you to enter by spending less.

For those who play, it means having a lot of choice; for those who follow, it is a period when traffic increases and there is a “headline” event every night.
