Napoli-Roma is one of the two big matches that will be played this weekend, the other being obviously Inter-Juventus, which will close a Sunday entirely dedicated to matchday 25 of the Serie A championship.

The two teams are in a fierce battle to secure a spot in the Champions League, but a couple of positive results could put them back in contention with Inter, who are now 9 points ahead of the Neapolitans and 12 ahead of Roma.
The Bianconeri team could only manage a draw, which they snatched in the final part of the match, against Lazio in the last league round, while Roma interrupted Cagliari’s positive run, defeating them 2-0 at the Olimpico.

Napoli-Roma: our prediction
A careful analysis of Sunday evening’s match cannot ignore the health status of the two teams.
First and foremost, Napoli’s situation is linked to a whole series of dynamics related to the numerous injuries that Antonio Conte‘s team is forced to deal with, given that they are still ongoing. For example, McTominay is suffering from tendinopathy affecting the area between the gluteus and hamstring, which, and this is good news for Conte, should keep him out for only a couple of weeks, or even less, so much so that he could even start as a starter for Sunday’s match.

Gasperini also has to contend with a not-so-lucky season in relation to his more or less injured players, but the good news concerns the new signing Donyell Malen, who has proven to be an excellent player, especially in relation to what Gasperini needed up front, where Roma needed it more.
Napoli’s morale is not the best, regardless of the injuries. On Tuesday evening, at the Maradona stadium, Como managed to eliminate the home team from the Coppa Italia, after Butez saved Lobotka’s penalty, and now Conte’s team is out of both the Champions League and, indeed, the Coppa Italia.
The Giallorossi team’s defense remains the focal point of the season, as no other team can boast such a low number of goals conceded, only 14 in total.

If Napoli manages to contain the new Roma attack and the visitors confirm their extraordinary defensive form, it could result in a No Goal match.

The Under/Over market
It’s no great surprise that the Under/Over market is closely linked to the Goal/No Goal market, and this rule holds true here as well, with Over 2.5 paying significantly more than Under.

Probable lineups
The choices of the two coaches are obviously influenced by the injuries. Let’s try to anticipate them with these names, assuming a record recovery for McTominay:
NAPOLI (3-4-2-1): Meret; Beukema, Rrhamani, Buongiorno; Gutierrez, Lobotka, McTominay, Spinazzola; Vergara, Elmas; Hojlund. Coach: Conte
ROMA (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mancini, Ndicka, Gilardi; Celik, Pisilli, Cristante, Wesley; Soule, Dybala; Malen. Coach: Gasperini
1-X-2 Odds
Napoli is favored in the 1-X-2 market odds, but Roma is not out of the running, with the “2” odds below 4.00.
