The prize pool approached ten million euros, with a first prize of 1.4 million for the winner. The trophy went to Frenchman Thomas Eychenne after a heads-up deal with Romanian Sebastian Ionita, from which our Umberto Zaffagnini, who had waved the white flag on the lowest step of the podium, was excluded.
Italians’ feeling with EPT Barcelona
Speaking of Italians in the EPT Main Event of the Catalan capital, we all remember the incredible victory of Giuliano Bendinelli in 2022, with the Genoese player lifting the trophy after being left with pocket change at the final table.
But since Luca Pagano’s first appearance in 2004, a total of nine EPT Barcelona Main Event final tables have featured an Italian. Not to mention the side events. In 2023 alone, five Italian poker players lifted the trophy!
We are sure that in the EPT Barcelona 2026 edition too, ItalPoker will be able to prove its worth.
