A total of two scratch cards were won in the Tuscan city in the space of a few days: one “Turista per Sempre” (Tourist Forever) which awards a total of 1,840,000 euros over the next 20 years, and one “Miliardario” (Billionaire) for 500,000 euros.

Two dream wins, both achieved in two lottery retailers not far from each other, in the heart of Arezzo, where past and present blend. The hunt for the two winners has obviously begun, but the task is proving difficult, given the many tourists who frequent both retailers, along with the local residents.
The fact is that the new year has started at full speed in the Tuscan provincial capital. Let’s take a closer look.
Scratch Cards: 2026 Kicks Off with “Turista per Sempre”
Ready, set, go! Just after the Christmas holidays, in the second week of January, the first big win arrived in Arezzo. At the lottery retailer on Via del Trasimeno, a “Turista per Sempre” made an anonymous player happy. The winning combination was hit, allowing the player to immediately receive a prize of 300,000 euros.
To this is added a monthly annuity of 6,000 euros for the next 20 years, at the end of which comes a sort of final payout of 100,000 big ones. A total prize of 1,840,000€, which, as we have seen, is distributed over two decades. The owner of the lottery retailer, however, seems to have no doubts: “This is not a regular customer, but a passing customer. Otherwise, we would have already had some clue about the possible winner“.
Since the creation of “Turista Per Sempre“, over 300 people have hit the top prize, which, remember, becomes the top prize if the words “Turista per Sempre” appear twice on the scratch card. The last winning ticket, before the one in Arezzo, dates back to last October, in the Province of Varese.
Arezzo Doubles Up on Wins
Arezzo, Caput Mundi of Luck, and not even two weeks after the first big win, here comes the second, fueling the debate and, above all, the hunt for the new winner. This time, it was the lottery retailer on Via Romana, with the well-known scratch card “Il Miliardario“: 5 euros spent and a 500,000€ win for the lucky player who, obviously, has remained anonymous.
In this lottery retailer too, the owner seems to lean towards a non-regular customer. The fact is that in the space of a few days, Arezzo has become the scene of two victories totaling 2,340,000 euros. Obviously, taxes of 20% will be deducted from the individual winnings, but these remain significant amounts in the winners’ pockets.
Returning to this second scratch card, the 500,000 euros represent the maximum prize for this type of ticket, and should not be confused with the *Mega Miliardario* and *Maxi Miliardario*. Il Miliardario is one of the most successful scratch cards ever, with 30 prizes of 500,000 euros awarded in 2024 and a remarkable 33 in 2025. The first success of 2026 is precisely the one that arrived in Arezzo.

The winning probabilities for scratch cards vary significantly depending on the type of ticket and the prize amount. On average, about 1 ticket out of 3 is a winner, but this statistic also includes prizes equal to the cost of the play (so-called “break-even wins”).
