EPT Paris, PokerStars Open Main Event: Lulei Hu still a great protagonist, he’s at the final table!

The circle is tightening on the 1.650€ PokerStars Open Main Event at EPT Paris, which restarted yesterday with 44 promoted to Day 3, while today there are just six left, the protagonists of the final table. Among them is our Lulei Hu, who we know is of Chinese origin but has lived in Italy for a long time, and is a regular on all the main live circuits, with excellent results. The best of his career could come today, given that his top is represented by the 381,000 euros won thanks to the triumph in the Euro Poker Million in Rozvadov last July. Today, in fact, the remaining six will play for the largest part of the 4.3 million euro prize pool, with rewards from the 112.540€ guaranteed for everyone to the 551.090€ that will accompany the spade.

FINAL POSITIONPRIZE

2€346.230
3€247.310
4€190.220
5€146.320
6€112.540

Lulei Hu returned to the top positions when two tables remained, staying as chipleader for a long time and being overtaken only in the final stages by the Swede Martinsson, who will be directly to his left today. Theoretically a small complication for Lulei, who however has already shown he can handle himself well even out of position and in other difficult situations.

Here is the lineup for today’s final table:

PokerStars Open High Roller: another invasion with 12 Italians at Day 2

Italy invades Paris, at least poker-wise, also in another high-profile event scheduled yesterday during the French stop of the European Poker Tour. We are talking about the PokerStars Open High Roller, a tournament with a 2.700€ buy-in that attracted 1.162 entrants for a prize pool flirting with 2.8 million euros and a payout of 173 paid positions.

The tournament structure provided that the two starting flights yesterday, Day 1A and Day 1B, would be played “to the money”, i.e., until reaching 15% of the generated field. Let’s see how the two flights went.

Day 1A, top 10 and qualified Italians

863 players took part in Day 1A and operations concluded upon reaching 128 left. In the lead is a well-known face for Italian poker, the Romanian Stanciu, who often plays events in Campione d’Italia and will look down on everyone thanks to the 747.000 accumulated. No Italians in the top 10, as can be seen:

Day 1B: Bruscella in the top 10 and 3 more Italians advance

299 took part in Day 1B of the PokerStars Open High Roller Paris, with 45 qualifiers. Despite the turbo formula (20 minutes per level instead of 30) and the reduced field, the German Tobias Schwecht managed to accumulate an absolute chipleader stack for the tournament, making himself obviously untouchable even for all the opponents of Day 1B. Among these, we find the Italian Joseph Bruscella in the top 10:
