IPS Rozvadov: Daniele Sacchi is always super, at the final table with 3 other Italians

We have reached the last day for this epic IPS 1.5 Million in Rozvadov, a tournament with over 5,000 participants that has elected its final table from the 98 qualifiers from yesterday’s Day 3. Italian poker will be represented by as many as 4 players out of 9, particularly with Daniele Sacchi, still an excellent protagonist after the WSOP Ring won last month.

IPS 1.5 Million: Di Giacomo unlucky, Sacchi on fire and at the final table

At the King’s in Rozvadov, yesterday we started again from the 98 qualifiers for Day 3 of the IPS 1.5 Million, a tournament with a €380 buy-in that welcomed a field of 5,258 paying players.

Claudio Di Giacomo started second in chips yesterday and defended well, as usual, but fell near the final table due to two very unlucky hands. In the first, he had 67 suited and raised on a 6-7-9 flop, but the German PAUL called him with Q8 suited and hit a straight on the 5 turn. Down to 3.5 million, Claudio then recovered, but another pitfall was on the horizon.

Claudio Di Giacomo opened from early position with KQ suited and was called by the players on the blinds. Then, after a collective check on the flop with 10-J-2, the turn 9 caused a scramble: check from the blinds, Di Giacomo bet one million, the small blind raised to 3.5 million and then called Claudio’s all-in for 8.5 million, finding himself facing a set of 10s from his opponent. The river, however, was a 2 that paired the board and sent Di Giacomo to the cashier, sixteenth for €6,225.

Shortly after, we also lost Michele Tocci, who attempted a double-up with 88 but unfortunately found QQ blocking his way. For the Calabrian, 15th place and €8,450.

On the other hand, we have Daniele Sacchi, who confirms his super form after recent successes. The Roman was on a rollercoaster yesterday, but with a positive finish: first he gained a lot, then he lost a big pot with set over set, but then he won other important pots and finished very well.
