Dario Sammartino, one of the brightest icons in the history of Italian poker, is a new talent for PokerStarsNews. The announcement was made a couple of weeks ago, but the official baptism of this partnership took place at the recent PokerStars Open in Campione.

Cash or tournament?
Dario Sammartino talks about the differences between tournaments and cash games not so much from a technical point of view, but in terms of discipline and emotional impact. In a sense, they are like two different games, two different dimensions that are not necessarily compatible. There are great tournament players who cannot win at cash games and vice versa. In this regard, it should not be forgotten that Dario is one of the few to have excelled in both. And Sammartino also talks about this, about the substantial difference between two different types of poker player life, and with extreme awareness, having experienced both firsthand.

Dario’s sports idol
The conversation then shifts to sports comparisons, and you can imagine what the sports icon might be for a man of the world, but still a die-hard fan, like the Neapolitan Dario Sammartino.
