Carnival Series, let’s go: the 10 tournaments of Sunday evening 15. Spicy 50 and Sunday Extravaganza with the highest GTDs

It has only been 5 days since the MicroMillions closed with the victory of “4BetSh0v3_” in the Main Event, but the online festivals on PokerStars Poker and Sisal Poker are not stopping, as on Sunday evening, February 15th, the Carnival Series open their doors with a guaranteed prize pool of €5,378,000.

This mid-February event will accompany us until the first Sunday of March, when the Main Event will be played.

A Launchpad of 10 Tournaments

Turning to the weekend we are experiencing, there will be a total of 10 tournaments scheduled for February 15th, when Sunday tournaments will be practically monopolized by the Carnival celebration.

We start with a sort of warm-up tournament with an accessible Buy-In of 5 Euros, the No Limit High Five for €5 entry fee, followed by events scheduled for early and late evening, culminating in the €10 Dress Code [6-Max, Progressive KO, Hyper], with which we will begin the new week.

Before discussing the tournaments to be analyzed in depth, the rest of the program continues with the €50 Big Feast [8-Max, Progressive KO] which brings with it a guaranteed prize pool of €60,000, the €20 Ring Master with €50,000 offered by the rooms, and completed in prime time by the €10 Circus [8-Max, Mystery Bounty] for which a GTD of €40,000 has been set.

There is also an Omaha Tournament

Continuing to scroll through the program for the opening day of the Carnival Series, at 8:45 PM, the Omaha tournament will also be played, a specialty that, in these Series, will be the only one not played in the No Limit Hold’Em format.

Crossing the halfway point of the entry program, we want to mention the €30 Samba [7-Max, Progressive KO, Turbo] at 10:00 PM, the €50 Piñata [8-Max, Mystery Bounty, Turbo] at 10:30 PM, and the €100 Masquerade [6-Max, Progressive KO, Turbo] at 11:00 PM.

Some of these tournaments, as you will see later in the detailed program, will be repeated daily.

€250 Sunday Extravaganza with €125,000 GTD

One of the two events for which we will also present details is the one at 9:00 PM on Sunday, the Sunday Extravaganza, which carries a guaranteed prize of €125,000 that must be met and exceeded, as hoped by the minds behind the PokerStars Network, by the sum of the participants who will invest, either directly or through satellites, €250.

This is the maximum buy-in that can be played for a tournament in Italy, so the formula does not include re-entry, but it will be played in the 8-Max Progressive Knock Out format.

The first thing that catches the eye is the structure: 25,000 starting chips and 12-minute levels. We are in an online context, so the pace is fast, but not the classic pure turbo “washing machine”: the start is quite deep (75/150 ante 20 at level 1), which allows you to play real poker – opening sensible ranges, 3-betting without immediately going into push/fold mode, and above all, quickly understanding who is reading the table and who is just “clicking”.

Late registration will be open until the end of the third hour + 15 minutes from the start of Day 1, and the tournament will be played over two days. Play resumes at 9:05 PM on Monday.

€50 Carnival Series #7 SPICY 50

The tournament on Sunday with the highest Guaranteed Prize Pool, €150,000, will also be played over two days, with the second day scheduled for Monday, February 16th, at 9:05 PM. Late registration will be open for the first 4 hours and 5 minutes of Day 1 on Sunday.

This is one of the tournaments that are played only a few times a year, but which are among the most loved by players, otherwise, such a high GTD for a €50 Buy-In would not be explained.

It starts at 9:00 PM CET on February 15th, and late registration, as already written, remains open for 4 hours and 5 minutes, so there is a good portion of the tournament during which the field continues to grow and the tables remain quite active.

In addition, you are not tied to a single shot: there are up to 4 re-entries available precisely during the late reg period, a detail that makes the tournament accessible even for those who want to take some higher-variance spots in the early hours without feeling immediately out of the game.

The structure is fast but not turbo: 50,000 starting chips and 12-minute levels. It’s not an infinite deepstack, but it gives you enough room to play postflop with a minimum of maneuverability, especially in the initial phase.
