The recent PokerStars Open Main Event in Campione d’Italia has put some players in the spotlight. One who has particularly distinguished himself is certainly Vincenzo Petruzziello, who came very close to winning the most important trophy.
From Jakuzaboy to PS Open runner-up: who is Vincenzo Petruzziello
A little over 11 years ago, in September 2015, the player “jakuzaboy” won the fifth edition of the Italian Sunday Million, on PokerStars which at the time was not yet in a single network with Sisal. The victory, which came after a five-player deal, brought him a prize of 122 thousand euros. Behind that nickname was Vincenzo Petruzziello himself, who continued to play online tournaments assiduously for a few more years, before deciding to dedicate himself to other things in life.
Vincenzo himself confesses this in the immediate post-match interview given to our Davide De Luca and Marco Varrone, right after losing the final heads-up for the Main Event against the Swiss player Elvir Nuhiu. In this case too, there was an already agreed deal that softened the bitterness of not winning first place.
However, Petruzziello reveals that there were specific reasons that led him to manage the decisive phases in a perhaps slightly too frantic manner. And the player himself admits that, under normal circumstances, he would have made different choices, perhaps even during the deal discussion.

Vincenzo Petruzziello: a double shot of 290k!
With a vague resemblance to the tennis player Flavio Cobolli, this seemingly calmly composed young man has nevertheless achieved a significant double milestone: in just two tournaments (the 2014 online Million and the live PokerStars Open Main Event), he has accumulated winnings of almost 290 thousand euros!
Will we see him again in future live events?
